About
The Large Lounge is located on the seventh floor of the Hall building, to the left of the entrance to the main CSU office space. It is a large, open space that can be delegated into sections by movable cork boards, but still remains public and not private. The room number is H-701. Due to the heavy traffic the seventh floor receives in the afternoon, the room capacity* varies depending on the time of day. Its smallest capacity is within the hours of the late morning/early afternoon, and its largest capacity is within the hours of the evening/night. The lounge is available between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, it is available as of 3:30 pm, as it is reserved for Muslim prayer service until that time. Additionally, this space is unavailable on statutory holidays and during the exam period (unless it is being booked for a meeting, speaker series, or another Event with minimal volume). It is open to student groups, CSU clubs, and any recognized body at Concordia for rehearsals, Events, meetings, talks, workshops, etc.
Capacity
The Large Lounge’s maximum capacity is 450 people standing and 120 people seated. Please note, however, that this number drastically varies throughout the day:
- On Mondays to Thursdays:
- 9:00 am to 12:00 pm: 15 people
- 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm: 45 people
- 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm: 190 people
- After 5:00 pm: 280 people
- On Fridays:
- 9:00 am to 11:00 am: 15 people
- 11:00 am to 3:30 pm, the space is unavailable due to the MSA’s weekly prayer service
- 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm: 190 people
- After 5:00 pm: 280 people
- On weekends from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm: 280 people
