GENERAL

Posters for an event must contain the name of the Concordia association/department/group, as well as the location, date, and time of the event.
Groups can put up a maximum of 75 posters per event.
Posters can be of a maximum size of 11 x 17 cm.
Posters can be written in any language, provided that there be an English or French translation.
Posters can be up for a maximum of two weeks, or until the stamped expiry date, whichever comes first.
Posters can only be put on public bulletin boards on campus. These can be found at the following locations:

We cannot approve posters containing any of the following content:

  1. Discriminatory. We will not approve posters with sexist, racist, homophobic, or transphobic content.
  2. Culturally appropriative. We will not approve posters that advertise events or that contain images appropriating a culture other than the one the group represents.
  3. Promote an open bar or all-you-can-drink event. We will not approve posters that promote open bars because this is illegal in the province of Quebec [1].

[1] Promoting open-bar or all-you-can-drink events can result in:
i. fines
ii. removal of event organizing privileges

PERSONAL ADVERTISEMENTS

The only personal advertisements we approve are tutoring advertisements by Concordia students offering tutoring services to other Concordia students.

Tutors must be current Concordia students.

The course for which the tutoring is being offered must be currently offered at Concordia.

The tutor can only charge a maximum rate of 30$ per hour.

The tutor can only post a maximum of 25 posters.

POSTER PROCEDURES

Please refer to the following set of procedures if you are interested in putting up posters around Concordia:

  1. Familiarize yourself with Concordia’s postering guidelines and Concordia’s poster policy prior to creating your poster and submitting it for review.
  2. Obtain pre-approval for your poster by emailing a digital version of your poster to contactus@csu.qc.ca or bringing a physical copy to one of our offices (H-711 SGW or CC-426 LOY).
  3. Scan the QR code below or use the following link to complete the Poster Request Form.

  4. Print your posters and bring them to one of our offices for stamping and final approval.
  5. Put your posters up on any Concordia Student Union poster board. You may use pins or thumbtacks. Please avoid using glue, sticky tack, tape, and staples.
  6. Take your posters down. This should either be done after two weeks or after your event has taken place (whichever comes first).
